FAQ
Exercise Room
How do I get a locker or towel?
We strongly recommend you lock up any valuables. The Complex is not responsible for lost or stolen items. You may bring your own lock or rent one. Do not leave items in the lockers overnight, unless you have rented a locker ($10 per month)
Most of our members bring a towel from home. If you prefer, we can rent you one for 25¢.
Locks and towels are available for rent at the SRC front desk.
How do I get an appointment for a free orientation to the weight/exercise room?
We want you to get started properly by having our exercise trainer set you up your own exercise program. Everyone has different degrees of experience, so we tailor your workouts according to your individual needs. To schedule your workout, stop at the SRC front desk.
How do I work in on the weight equipment?
If you wish to share equipment with another member, simply ask, “May I work in?” A common mistake is to use a piece of equipment and then rest on it between sets. This doesn’t allow others to share and slows down the pace of the room. To rest, remove yourself from the piece you are using. Be aware of others.
How do I reserve a piece of the cardio equipment?
Posted around the exercise room are clipboards with equipment reservation sheets. You may sign up for 20-minute sessions on the stairmasters, bikes and cross trainers, and 30 minutes on the treadmills. Users are limited to the same time frame three times a week. If a user is more than five minutes late, they forfeit their time. Please check the clipboard before using a piece of equipment and if no one is signed up feel free to put your name down and use it.
Is there some way to keep track of my workouts?
You will receive a workout card during your orientation with the exercise trainer. Additional cards can be picked up at the front desk.
I don’t like the music in the exercise room?
After much research, we have determined a few radio stations that are least objectionable to the majority of users. If you wish to listen to something else, please bring a personal player with headphones.
Pool
How do I get to the pool, whirlpool and sauna?
To get to the pool, whirlpool and sauna, go into the SRC locker rooms,
through the showers and out the door that leads to the pool deck.
What do the lap lanes mean?
The lap lanes are used to divide off the pool depending on the schedule. During adult lap times, two lanes are put in and the entire area is available for lap swimming. When one lane rope is in, a small part of the pool is available for lap swimming and the rest of the area is used for open swim, swim lessons, or water exercise classes.
How do I know when I can use the pool?
Current pool schedules are always available at the SRC front desk. As a rule of thumb, during the summer months, adults may use the pool most of the day. Times are scheduled in the late morning and all afternoon for adults and children. During the winter months, the pool is open for adults during some morning hours and every day at Noon. Adults and children may use the pool afternoons from 4pm until close and most of the weekend hours.
When can I use the sauna and whirlpool?
The sauna and whirlpool are open for adults whenever the building is open.
Do I have to be in the pool with my kids?
Children six years of age and younger, those who cannot swim, and children in floats must have an adult present in the pool with them at all times. Parents cannot watch their non-swimmer children, or those in floats, from the pool deck.
My children are good swimmers and I don’t want to get in the pool. Can I watch them?
Parents can view the pool area from the atrium or the viewing room. You must have a swimsuit on to be on the pool deck.
What about lifeguards?
A lifeguard must be present anytime the pool is open. The guards are there for everyone’s safety and rules must be followed. All SRC lifeguards have received extensive training and are certified.
